Medical professionals from the Changhua Christian Hospital in Taiwan will be here from May 26 to June 15, and are providing services at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital in gastroenterology, hepatology and endocrinology.

They are collaborating with colleagues from the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital to provide services to as many citizens as possible.

This is the third time that a medical team from Changhua Christian Hospital in Taiwan is visiting this country to offer their services, having first come in August of 2010, when they were twinned with the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, highlighting a new era in medical co-operation between Taiwan and St Vincent and the Grenadines.

In addition to sending medical teams to St Vincent and the Grenadines, a range of professionals at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital fly to Taiwan from time to time in an attempt to build local capacity.

The Ministry is also hosting a Mobile Medical Mission from the USA. This team is here under the aegis of the LIONS Club of SVG, and will provide services in ophthalmology, dermatology and ear, nose and throat services at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, as well as the Division of Technical and Vocational Education of the SVG Community College, where screening for and the provision of eyeglasses is being done from May 29 until today. The other services will be offered at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.
