This sponsorship was secured through the efforts of the Pan Against Crime Committee and the manager of the Symphonix Steel Orchestra Anne Jones.
Regional Commercial Manager of the St Vincent Brewery Shafia London says, âThe Brewery is pleased to give support to the Pan Against Crime Initiative through this sponsorship and welcomes the relationship between the Brewery and the Orchestra.â She further explained that it is the companyâs hope that the sponsorship will make a meaningful difference to the young people in the South Leeward community where the Brewery operates.â
The Symphonix Steel Orchestra is one of eight steel pan sides which came into existence as a result of the Pan Against Crime Programme in 2008, the brain child of Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves. The Steel pan side is currently managed by Anne Jones and is home to approximately 45 players.
An excited Jones, speaking on behalf of the band, says, âWe are grateful to the Brewery for adopting the Questelles based band, as our hard work has certainly paid off.â
Jones says the sponsorship is also timely, as it will assist in their preparations for Panorama and will generally enhance the already professional outfit of the band.
Similar sponsorship agreements were realized through the efforts of the Pan Against Crime Initiative and the NCCP for the Mustique Charitable Trust Georgetown All Stars, St Vincent Port Authority Genesis, Palm Island Resort Union Island, CCA Limited Canouan, Scotia Bank South East Steel and Solidarity Inc.
