Participants heard presentations from zonal co-ordinator Rosmond Layne-Lorraine and featured presenter Monty Maule.
Maule, in his presentation, challenged the men to be recruiters of more males as good role models, positive thinkers, leaders, good parents, responsible individuals, ambitious in nature, knowledgeable of self and their environs and above all, followers of the teaching of Christ.
Participants themselves were involved in exercises related to the roles they play and should play in society.
The Menâs Conference is one activity used to try and encourage men in zone seven, which includes Buccament, Kertons, Layou and Barrouallie, to be more involved in nation-building. Research has shown that the role of men in todayâs society is becoming more and more scarce and in some instances, participation is non-existent. Support for the conference came from The Buccament Bay Resort, Oasis, and Randyâs Supermarket.
Other upcoming programmes and workshops for men in zone seven include: Arc welding, Seamanship, Composting, Furniture construction, Computer Repairs and Information Technology.
