EHSM holds Career Education Day

The Emmanuel High School Mesopotamia held their Career Education Day on April 26, under the theme “Giving Every Child a Chance to Succeed”.{{more}}

The day’s activity, organized by the guidance committee of the school, featured presentations from past students and various institutions of the private and public sectors.

The goals of the day’s activity were to: provide students with positive role models; expose students to the various career options available and to prepare them with the skills needed for the job market; enable students to practise their interviewing skills.

During the morning’s activity, representatives from LIME conducted interview sessions with the fifth form students. Presentations were made by Kathleen Jeffers, Career Guidance Officer within the Ministry of Education, and past students: Pastor Henry Davy, Pastor Sylvester King, Rupert Doyle, Marcus Caine, Blazer Williams and Dr McKen Carrington. During the presentations, the importance of social graces, having good communication skills, morality, and regularity and punctuality were highlighted.

The afternoon session featured presentations from both the private and public sectors. Booths were set up by the National Centre of Technological Innovation, Dr Samuel Hazel, Antony Patterson, Rosann Thompson, Marlon Browne, representative of pottery industry, and representatives from the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force.
