The National Lotteries Authority has responded to a statement from the SVG Gospel Fest Committee about the poor quality and âdrop outsâ in the sound at Gospel showcase held at the Victoria Park on Sunday, April 29.{{more}}
In their statement, the Gospel Fest Committee said that the sound problems were due to electrical problems and were entirely beyond their control and that of the Sound provider New Life Ambassadors (NLA) Sounds.
The National Lotteries however, said they wish to highlight that electricity supply for sound companies providing sound at the Victoria Park is made available through a three phase power supply (snake), which runs from a generator room located at the top of the mas shed to the stage.
âThis is to prevent the use of multiple equipments on the same electrical circuit thereby avoiding fluctuation in voltage and damage to equipment and personnel,â the statement from NLA said.
âThe New Life Ambassadors sound company did not have the required connection for the three phase power supply and resorted to gain connection from another source in the Victoria Park during early events for Gospel Fest. They however indicated that there was enough time to prepare for the grand finale which included the event on Sunday April 29.
âOn investigation it was discovered by our electrician that the three phase power supply was not utilised correctly by the New Life Ambassadors Sound Company on the night of April 29, 2012. This resulted in the electrical problems experienced.
âWe must highlight that since the unfortunate incident which occurred during last yearâs Steel and Glitter show, the National Lotteries Authority has done extensive work correcting the electrical problem that existed in the Victoria Park.
âFor future events at the Victoria Park sound companies must provide required connection device before electrical power is provided,â the release from the NLA said.
