A statement released by the committee on Monday said that the âpoor quality and âdrop outsâ in the sound at the show was due to electrical problems experienced in the park.â
During the performances on Sunday night, the Master of Ceremonies for the night, Mauricia George, informed the audience that they needed to shut off the electricity for a few seconds, due to technical difficulties.
The statement released by the committee further stated that around fifteen minutes into the show, they began to experience electrical problems. The electrical problems, according to the statement, affected the quality of the performances of the local artiste and resulted in the featured artiste aborting their performances.
According to the statement, attempts were made to contact the electrician, who, according to the rental agreement, should have been on the facility, but was not present. Subsequently, attempts were made to reach the manager of the facility, the statement said.
According to the statement, the electrician arrived at the Victoria Park where the event was held, and agreed that there were electrical problems, but seemed unsure of what to do.
The release further stated that the circumstances were entirely beyond the control of the SVG Gospel Fest Committee and that of the sound provider NLA Sounds. The matter has been reported to the relevant authorities.
