Auntie Bernie’s Preschool celebrates its 15th anniversary
On May 5, 1997, Auntie Bernieâs Preschool opened its doors to the parents and children in the community of Old Montrose in the Block 2000 vicinity.{{more}}
This opening came about after the New Horizons Pre-School, situated in Stoney Ground, closed its doors, leaving Bernaville Morgan (then Supervisor) and Roxanne John (teacher) no other alternative but to look for a home for the children to continue the work of Early Childhood Education here in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
Auntie Bernieâs Pre-School started with 21 children from in and around the community and two teachers.
The number has increased and, because of this, the school employed the services of another teacher, Julia Alexis, who joined the staff with a lot of experience, having taught at various pre-schools previously.
In the year 2004, the school was able to secure a rented building, which they currently occupy. This is in the Old Montrose area just a few footsteps from the Block 2000 area en route to the Lodge Village Government School.
Auntie Bernieâs Pre-School caters to childrenâs physical, social, emotional, mental and spiritual development, having produced some of the top students in the Common Entrance Examination.
Auntie Bernieâs Pre-School provides a positive learning environment for children, which enhances their personal level of development, not just at the pre-school level, but beyond.
The staff of Auntie Bernieâs Pre-School would like to thank all those persons, especially parents and guardians, who supported us tremendously over the years. Without them it would not have been possible to make it thus far.
