The launch will be a whole day activity, as beginning in the morning, trucks, loaded with speakers and disc jockeys, will carry out whistle stops on the Leeward and Windward side of the island.

At 6:00 p.m. the masses are expected to gather at the Car Park for the official launch of Vincy Mas 2012. The launch will see the first public appearance of the Miss SVG Contestants, while the various Mas Bands will show their wares. A number of the J’ouvert bands will also display their 2012 product.

The highlight of the launch is the various New Song Competitions. The local artistes will take to the stage where they will compete in the New Song Calypso Competition, the New Song Soca Competition and the New Song Ragga Soca Competition. There will also be an Extempo competition.

The New Song Calypso competition was in 2011 won by Kahalia ‘Queen Bee’ Beache with ‘Protest for that’. The New Song Soca Competition was won by Armstrong ‘Strong’ Williams with ‘Tie Me,’ while the new addition Ragga Soca New Song Competition was won by Shernell ‘Skarpyon’ Williams with ‘She Tell Me’. The Extempo Competition was as usual won by Vincent ‘Blakey’ Cuffy.

EC$5 will get persons inside the Car Park.
