King died at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital after he was allegedly attacked by Jack with a knife in the Bay Street area on Monday at around 5:30 pm police said.

While details remain sketchy, SEARCHLIGHT understands that King made his way over to Randy’s Supermarket after being stabbed.

Proprietor, Randy Kennedy told SEARCHLIGHT that he was doing some work when he saw a large crowd gathering at the entrance of his supermarket on Lower Bay Street.

Like the others present, he said that he was curious and went to get a look.

He said that he saw a trail of blood and after making his way to the front of the crowd, he saw King lying on the ground asking for help.

“With the amount of blood I saw, I knew that he had lost a lot of blood,” Kennedy said.

The businessman said that after getting two boxes from his storage, he with the assistance of two other men, placed King in a vehicle on the make shift bed and took him to the MCMH.

“During the ride to the hospital, all I could hear him saying is ‘Oh God ah dead, Oh God ah dead’.”

Kennedy said that he left to go home to change, but checked in some time after, and was given the news that King had succumbed to his injuries.

SEARCHLIGHT also caught up with 80-year-old Veronica King on Wednesday, the deceased man’s aunt – a resident of Byera.

According to the woman, relations between her and Celeon had gone sour following an altercation which took place in Georgetown when she told him not to return to her residence.

She however expressed her sorrow after she said she heard the news of her nephew’s death.

“Well ah feel bad. You have to feel sad because if somebody do wickedness you have to feel sad,” Veronica King said.

She said that he had a known history of mental illness, but she said that she is still sorry to hear what took place.

“Ah feel it you know, whole night last night ah was there…” she said, adding that it had been a while since she last saw her nephew alive.

This now brings the number of murders having been committed for 2012 to eight and comes a few days after the beating death of Denole Nickie of South Rivers. (DD)
