St George’s Cathedral to stage concert tonight

The Dean and members of the Parish Church Council of the St George’s Cathedral will stage a production called “Be Still” as part of the celebrations of the ‘Feast of Title’ at the Church of the Ascension, Sion Hill, on Friday, April 27, 2012.{{more}}

The concert will start at 7:00 p.m. and would include dances in group and duet, songs in group and solo, music, skit and monologue. Performing would the members of the St George’s Anglican Youth Movement, the St George’s Cathedral Choir, Deanna Hadaway, and Trevor Edwards. Guest Appearances would be made by the Junior Dance Club, The St Paul’s Anglican Church Dancers, Molicia Browne and Neeka Anderson, John Keil and Saeed Bowman. It would be an evening for the whole family to come and enjoy.

The St George’s Cathedral, Kingstown, is one of the most historic buildings in our capital city of Kingstown and in fact in the entire nation of St Vincent and the Grenadines. It was built around 1827 and is approximately 185 years old. In 1876 it was made the Cathedral Church for the Diocese of the Windward Islands and given the name the St George’s Cathedral.
