Digicel’s Fun Walk promises to be Bigger and Better
Channel Manager and Head of Digicelâs Social Club Gershom Dick said on Wednesday that the annual Digicel Social Club Fun Walk will this year be as Digicelâs tag line says, âbigger and betterâ.{{more}}
Dick also added that four new sponsors in the form of Subway, C. K. Greaves, W. J. Abbotts and the Grassroot Tennis Club (GTC) have joined the walk.
This year proceeds from the Fun Walk will go towards providing 10 one-year scholarships to successful students in the 2012 Common Entrance Examinations.
Dick said that the Social Club will make selections based on academic performance and financial needs.
The Fun Walk will be held on Tuesday, May 1 and is expected to begin at 5:30 a.m. from the Grassroot Tennis Clubâs (GTC) parking lot, located at Murrayâs Road. Persons will walk to Cane Hall, over to Belair, down the Vigie Highway and back to the GTCâs Parking Lot.
T-Shirts for the Fun Walk cost EC$25. Breakfast will be provided to participants upon completion of the walk.
T-shirts can be bought at Digicel Corporate Office (Lewis Building James Street), Digicel Retail Store (The Cell) and Bank of St Vincent and the Grenadines branches.
The event has this year received sponsorship from the St Vincent Brewery, Right Stuff, Sweetie Pie Bakery, Grand View Grill, Coreas Hazells Inc, Scotia Bank, Sprotts Distributors, Bickles, French Verandah, CFL (SVG) Holdings and Vincy Gold Spring Water.
The Fun walk is being held in collaboration with the Bank of St Vincent and the Grenadinesâ Social Club.
