Talk Show host Frank da Silva pursuing legal action against female caller

Police are said to be carrying out investigations to determine the identity of a person who called in to a radio programme last week.{{more}}

When that person is identified, talk show host and contributor Frank E da Silva says he intends to file both civil and criminal charges against the caller for defamation.

The person called to the morning show on Cross Country Radio last Friday, February 24, which was being hosted by Kingsley DeFreitas. The panelists, including daSilva, were discussing a letter entitled “Can we talk about race please” written by Maia Eustace, which was recently published in the local newspapers.

The caller, believed to be female said, “Good morning, I want to say I agree with Mr. DaSilva, Miss Eustace’s article is rubbish,” following which the caller accused daSilva of two instances of criminal conduct.

da Silva said he has provided an audio recording of the call to Commissioner of Police Keith Miller and the Director of Public Prosecution Colin Williams, and both men have indicated that they are looking into the matter.

“I am not joking about this one at all!” da Silva told SEARCHLIGHT on Wednesday evening.

“I am pursuing this both criminally and civilly.”

da Silva is being represented in the matter by the law firm of Williams and Williams.
