Land Surveyors’ Board operational again
The Land Surveyorsâ Board is once more operational, following approval granted recently by the Cabinet, in accordance with the Land Surveyorsâ Act of 1974.{{more}}
According to a release from the Ministry of Housing, Informal Human Settlements, Lands & Surveys and Physical Planning, the Board comprises the Permanent Secretary, the Chief Surveyor, a practising private surveyor and an attorney at law.
The Board is required to concern itself, among other things, with: The conditions for the grant of a surveyorâs license; The gazetting of a surveyorâs license; The maintenance of a Register of licensed surveyors; The disciplinary powers of the Board; The process of Appeal; The revocation or suspension of a license, and the termination of suspension of the license, with the corresponding grant of a new license.
The release said at the most recent meeting of the Board on Thursday, February 23, 2012, Minister of Housing Montogomery Daniel âattended and participated actively in the deliberations.â
