His Excellency Cenio Lewis is Ambassador to Portugal

SVG High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Cenio E. Lewis has been appointed non-resident Ambassador to Portugal.{{more}}

On Tuesday, January 10, Lewis presented his letters of credence to the President of Portugal.

On January 11, he attended the ceremony of the New Year Greetings to the President of Portugal, where he expressed Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves’ best wishes for a happy and successful New Year to the President.

In a letter to Prime Minister Gonsalves, Lewis said he is fully conscious that his appointment as non-resident Ambassador is a great honour. He further assured that “in the discharge of my duties I will do so with a clear recognition that the interest and image of our country is of great importance.”

Lewis said in executing his duties he will endeavour to seek the strengthening of the relationship between St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Portugal.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines first established formal diplomatic relation with Portugal on April 12, 1995.(API)
