Geological Hazard Training Workshop ends today

A Geological Hazard Training Workshop, being held in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, comes to an end today.{{more}}

The Workshop is a collaboration between the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO), the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) and The Seismic Research Centre, from the St Augustine Campus at the University of the West Indies.

The workshop, which is being held from January 23 to 24, at NEMO’S conference room, commences at 9:00 am daily and seeks to improve the national level to effectively and efficiently address issues relating to geological hazards.

The objectives of the training are to expose NEMO’s staff and key stakeholders to information, knowledge and skills relative to geological hazards; to build capacity at the national level to effectively and efficiently address issues relating to geological hazards and to enhance the capacity of the organization to present, produce and disseminate geological hazard public information, educational materials and PSA’s for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines’ unique circumstances.

The workshop is being facilitated by Dr Richard Robertson and Stacey Edwards from the Seismic Research Centre of the St Augustine Campus of the University of the West Indies.
