Planned Parenthood donates food baskets

The donations from a number of corporate citizens, pharmacies and members of the general public made it possible for 13 persons affected by HIV to receive special food baskets from the St. Vincent Planned Parenthood Association.{{more}}

On Wednesday December 21, Executive Director of the SVPPA Verlene Saunders handed over these packages to Kim Warner, local advocate for PLHIV (Persons Living with HIV) at the Planned Parenthood office at Lower Kingstown Park/ Paul’s Avenue.

Saunders indicated that the packages were provided by her office, with the help of corporate donations from LIME, GECCU, Randy’s Supermarket, GTM Life, Campden Park Gospel Hall and Q-Care, Gaymes and Victoria Pharmacies, and persons who made contributions to the office.

The purchasing of the items was done in conjunction with the Nutrition Unit of the Ministry of Health.

Saunders also took the opportunity to remind the public, that the Planned Parenthood office provides HIV counseling and testing. Condoms are also available at the office, both on sale and free of charge.
