CARSEA revived with new Executive for 2012

Headteacher of the Kingstown Government School Maureen Brackin has been elected President of The Caribbean Society for Educational Administration (SVG) (CARSEA).{{more}}

The organization, which had been dormant for the past five years, on Tuesday, November 22, elected a new executive for the next year.

Brackin’s executive includes: Cindy Edwards (lecturer at the SVG Teachers’ College) – Vice President; Erene Richardson – Secretary; Norma Commissiong-Gurley – Assistant Secretary; Natasha Douglas – Treasurer; Arthalie Doyle – Public Relations Officer.

The Committee Members are Carmie Williams, Ermis Sardine and Winston Telesford.

CARSEA (SVG) was founded in 2001 by a group of Educators, including Dr. Veronica Marks, Retired Headteacher Garvin Seymour, Curtis King, Luis deShong, Dr. Alson Jack and Philbert John.

The main objectives of the organisation are: To help educational administrators identify problems in light of their own local conditions, to research and to publish the results; To examine literature of interest to educational administrators; To foster a cooperative relationship among administrative personnel from the Ministry of Education, Educational institutions at the pre-primary, primary, secondary, tertiary levels and teachers’ professional organisations; To make available a pool of administrative and research resources for educational administrators in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
