Vincentians excel in Trinity School of Medicine poster presentation

The Pre-Med Genetics course at Trinity School of Medicine once again offered its students the opportunity to present research done in the form of a poster presentation.{{more}}

This was witnessed by an audience of students from the Pre-Medical and Medical programmes, resident professors and visiting professors. The event – initiated and organized by Dr. Shakel Henson, Pre-Med Genetics lecturer – allowed her students to express themselves verbally and creatively.

Annicia Johnson and Kristo Deane beautifully articulated their chosen topics. Annicia comparatively discussed Mitosis and Meiosis and educated the audience about the importance of these processes in creating genetic variety among organisms. Her colleague Kristo took a more historical approach and explained the brilliant work performed by Gregor Mendel with the use of the Garden Pea.

The data presented were truly informative and enlightening. Annicia and Kristo are Vincentian Pre-Medical students who will join the growing list of Vincentians who have entered the medical programme at Trinity School of Medicine in January, 2012.
