The SEARCHLIGHT Treasure Hunt, which was launched in February, is a weekly quiz in which readers search the Midweek edition of SEARCHLIGHT to find the answers to five questions published in the newspaper.
The Treasure Hunt, which had as its tag line, âwhere reading is a treasureâ was co-sponsored by Bickles, Courts St Vincent Ltd, Jujube Bookstore and Digicel.
While the main objective of the competition was to promote reading and literacy, another objective, according to coordinator of the competition Molicia Charles, was to reward the readers of SEARCHLIGHTâs Midweek edition.
Next week will be the final week of the competition.
This weekâs questions are on page 20.
As announced when the competition was launched in February, the reader who entered the most correct entries to the competition will win the grand prize. Consolation prizes of free one-year online subscriptions to SEARCHLIGHT will be given to the persons placing second to fourth. The grand prize winner will also receive a free online subscription.
For the last ten months, the weekly winners walked away with gifts from Courts, $25 Digicel cell phone top ups, $20 gift vouchers from Jujube, and $10 patty meals from Bickles.
The grand prize winner will be announced in our Weekend edition of December 30.
The Kindle Fire is a 7″ multi-touch display full colour device from Amazon Digital Services, which allows users to read books and magazines, watch movies, play games, listen to music and browse the Internet.
