PM to present 2012 Estimates today
Minister of Finance and Planning Dr Ralph Gonsalves will, for the eleventh time since his Unity Labour Party (ULP) government took office in 2001, make projections as to governmentâs revenue and expenditure for the upcoming year.
Today is also the first anniversary of the ULPâs third victory at the polls.
The Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure for 2011 were adopted in the House of Assembly on January 20, 2011. The 2011 Estimates of $786.4 million, reflected a 13.9 per cent or EC$126.99 million decrease, compared with the 2010 figure of $913.47 million.
No announcement has yet been made as to when the debate on the Appropriation Bill, commonly known as the Budget, will take place, although the Prime Minister did indicate it will be early next year.
