Taiwan President thanks PM for his support at UN General Debate

President of Taiwan Ma Ying jeou has thanked Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves for his statement made at the General Debate of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly this year.{{more}}

In a letter addressed to Dr. Gonsalves, President Ying-jeou said he wished to express his heartfelt appreciation for the statement Dr. Gonsalves made at the General Debate of the United Nations General Assembly this year, as well as at the High Level meeting on the prevention and control of Non-communicable diseases, firmly backing Taiwan’s meaningful participation in the UN system.

The letter further stated that Taiwan looks forward to this country’s continued support for its cause, so that the aspirations that the people of Taiwan have for broader international involvement will be fulfilled.

President Ying-jeou said this country had long been a staunch friend and ally to Taiwan and the two countries enjoyed close and frequent exchanges.

The Taiwanese President also reiterated his determination to promote bilateral relations and cooperation between SVG and Taiwan thereby further ensuring the interests of the two countries and the welfare of both peoples.(API)
