Local Soca Artiste wins in Courts Stash of Cash

Local entertainer Asquith ‘Squitty’ Charles this week missed an opportunity given by Furniture and Appliance Giants Courts St. Vincent Ltd to win $10,000.{{more}}

On Sunday, December 4, Charles became the company’s latest customer to be featured in the highly supported Stash of Cash Promotions, which has seen a total of $28,000 being won so far by four customers, including Charles who instead walked away with $2,500.

The Carriere resident was greeted at his home on Sunday by members of the Courts staff and the Stash of Cash team, which comprises Gary Constantine, Terranza Franklyn, Antoinell Keizer, Lenyka Roban, Lee Andrea Matthews, Nadica Providence and Anna Laborde, then was taken to the Courts Kingstown store, where hundreds of shoppers and fans of the Deal or No Deal type event awaited his arrival.

A pipe fitter by profession, employed with the Central Water and Sewerage Authority, Charles initially selected briefcase number two, held by Providence.

At the encouragement of the audience, he then traded the briefcase for number three, which was in the grasp of Laborde.

When the briefcase was opened it revealed his prize of $2,500, and to the dismay of Charles and the audience, briefcase number two, which he had originally selected contained a prize of $10,000.

Charles, who had bought a bed to become eligible for the promotion, said that he was satisfied with his prize, and felt good to have the opportunity to be a part of the event.

The long time shopper said that he intends to continue shopping at the store and encouraged others to be a part of the promotion.

He indicated that he intends to get something nice for his mother with his winnings.

The ragga soca and soca singer was not the only person to win goodies from Courts on the evening. Two persons received hams for just being present at the draw.

Shoppers were also entertained by top local jazz band Impac, and viewed demonstrations on how to use top quality brand appliances available at the store.

Marketing Executive Alexis John said: “There are still two massive events to go. Two customers will get the opportunity to win $20,000”. We have made it very easy for every customer to enter. Just spend $99 and get two entries for every $99 spent thereafter.

He stressed: “You cannot afford to miss out the most exciting big prize campaign to date in the country.”

He indicated that the next Stash of Cash event will take place on December 18, when one lucky customer will get the opportunity to win up to $20,000.
