Little Flower Pre-school receives early Christmas gift

On December 25, Christmas Day, children look forward to receiving gifts from Santa Claus, but for the teachers and the pupils of the Little Flower Preschool, Santa arrived a few weeks earlier.{{more}}

On Monday, December 5, at a short but significant ceremony, twelve chairs and five tables were handed over by CCA Ltd to the pre-school, located at Rillan Hill.

With bright smiles on their faces, the 18 pupils welcomed the representative for CCA Ltd, Helen Child, who made the presentation.

Child, told the students that CCA Limited, Canouan, is pleased to be able to offer the furniture to them.

“We gladly do this, because we understand that a comfortable environment makes for better learning.

“It is at the pre-school level that the attitude to positive learning is fostered, and it is with this in mind that we at the CCA Ltd feel blessed to be able to make a contribution towards nation building, in the investment of these children – the future men and women of this country.

“CCA Limited will also like to take this opportunity to commend the teachers at all levels in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, in their choice of such a noble profession that results in the impacting of the lives of children in such a positive way, with a very special encouragement to the teachers here at the Little Flower preschool,” Child added.

Speaking on behalf of the pre-school, teacher Valena Peters explained that the donation is a timely one, because of the increase in the number of pupils since the school’s inception.

According to Peters, the school began operation in September 2009 with 12 pupils and those numbers increased in 2010 to 22, and at present there are 18 pupils.

“Thanks to the CCA Limited for the donation to us here at Little Flower Pre-school. We are very appreciative to the firm for considering us….

“We assure you that the furniture will be used to enhance our little children here, in whatever way we can. We are thankful and we wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year,” Peters said.

CCA Limited is based in Canouan and provides construction, architecture and maintenance services.
