Two win in Courts’ first Stash of Cash

Furniture and appliance Giants Courts paid out more than $10,000 over the weekend, in the company’s latest and highly anticipated Stash of Cash Promotion.{{more}}

Last weekend, as the store opened its doors for early and extended Christmas shopping, Campden Park resident Nordisia King and Michelle Wright of Penniston became the first two winners of the campaign, which will see up to $90,000 in cash being won by persons who spend more than $99 storewide.

On Sunday, the showroom floor of the Kingstown store was transformed into a Hollywood studio, with lights, cameras, and lots of action; with the hundreds of shoppers who filled the store making up for a studio audience, and SVG’s Premier jazz band Impac setting the tone for an exciting evening of entertainment.

King, who was the first contestant in the ‘deal of no deal’ type setting, faced off with Master of Ceremonies for the evening, Gary Constantine, and his six beautiful assistants who held briefcases, each containing a stash of cash.

After being surprised at her home earlier in the day and transported to the store with the Stash of Cash team and Courts staff, King, who purchased a GE stove to become eligible for the draw, was ready to make the choice of a lifetime.

Her final selection of briefcase number three, held by Anna Laborde, saw the Twin City employee leaving the store $7,500 richer.

King, who celebrated the occasion with friends and family members, said that she was very happy to win the Stash of Cash, from which she intends to make a payment on her stove and bank the rest for rainy days.

Wright, a security guard at the National Public Library, was also greeted and surprised at her work place by the Stash of Cash Team, which also comprises Lee Andrea Matthews, Nadica Providence, Terranza Franklyn, and Lenyka Roban and Antoinell Keizer.

The Penniston resident, who purchased a stereo system to become eligible for the draw, indicated that whatever she won, she was going to deposit to the bank.

When her turn came, Wright selected and stuck with briefcase number four, held by Antoinell Keizer.

When opened, the briefcase revealed $3000 waiting to be taken home by Wright.

The long time Courts shopper said that it was a great joy to win the money, since it was more than what she had earlier in the day.

Marketing Executive Alexis John indicated to the audience at the store that the next Stash of Cash prize draw will take place this Sunday, November 27 at the store, with as much as $15,000 up for grabs.

He encouraged shoppers to particpate in the promotion, in order to become eligible to win their Stash of Cash.
