Information reaching SEARCHLIGHT indicates that Moses escaped from the yard of Her Majesty’s Prisons at White Chapel, while preparing to go to the Serious Offences Court to be remanded.

SEARCHLIGHT has also been reliably informed that 37 prison wardens were on duty at the time Moses escaped.

It is, however, still unclear, how Moses made good on his escape.

A police press release, dated November 21, states that Moses should be approached with caution, as he may be armed and dangerous.

Moses, 27, a labourer of Rillan Hill, is jointly charged with Tameka Sutherland, 19, with the murder of Steveon Springer of Layou.

The trial, which has already commenced, has seen four witnesses take the stand thus far, in relation to the shooting of Springer which took place on December 9, 2010.

Police Prosecutor, Adolphus Delpesche told SEARCHLIGHT that the matter has been adjourned to December 2 for continuation.

Delpesche explained that even if Moses is not caught in time for the trial’s continuation, the Preliminary Inquiry will continue against Sutherland until Moses is apprehended.

He noted that the matter against Moses will have to be adjourned sine die.

Springer was shot in the back of his head in the vicinity of Karib Cable on Murray Road, while he was carrying his one-year-old daughter in his arms. He also sustained a gunshot wound to his hip.

The child was unharmed.

If seen, persons are asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at telephone numbers, 456-1810 or 457-1211 Exts. 224, 225, 226, or the nearest Police Station.
