Speaking during the ‘Spell DIGICEL and Win’ launch last Friday, November 18, at Heritage Square in Kingstown, Digicel’s Country Manager Sonia Polius said that the promotion is an addition to the numerous value oriented promotions that the company currently has running.

“Digicel is the gift that keeps on giving and giving and giving”, said Polius, who added, “this Christmas you are going to see value and excitement that you have never seen before; this Christmas we are going to introduce to St. Vincent and the Grenadines the Digicel wheel-a-deal, which is going to allow you to win up to EC$250,000 in cash and prizes”.

Polius added that all persons have to do is top up EC$15 or more, pay your post paid bill in full and on time, or join the Bigger Better Network for a chance to win great prizes.

Meanwhile, hundreds of Vincentians who gathered at Heritage Square last Friday were not disappointed, as a number of them walked away with among other things, free credit compliments Digicel, household appliances from Singer and drinks compliments the St. Vincent Brewery Ltd. Those who didn’t win anything had just as much fun, as entertainment was in the form of Gamal’ Skinny Fabulous’ Doyle and Disc Jockey ‘2 Kool Chris’ from Hot 97.1 FM. Masters of Ceremonies were Digicel’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) OECS Jerry George and Comedian Maurice Horne.

During the launch, persons were given the opportunity to spin Digicel’s wheel-a-deal. Patrons got the opportunity to spin the wheel if scratch cards distributed in the crowd by the ‘Digi-Girls’ spelt out the word DIGICEL. Nine persons got the opportunity to play the wheel-a-deal game, with some winning credit, while others won kitchen appliances compliments Singer. Skinny Fabulous also gave away cases of Hairoun products to persons who competed in made up games, which included opening three malt bottles in less than a minute without an opener and balancing bottles on top of one another. The Digicel wheel-a-deal is expected to hit numerous communities during the Christmas season, starting with Campden Park this weekend.

This year, the Christmas promotion, which ends on January 31st, 2012, offers all Digicel subscribers both prepaid and post-paid, a chance to win over $250,000 in credit and prizes, including EC$70,000 cash. Apart from weekly prizes, seven persons will be eligible to win cash prizes up to EC$100,000 during the promotion period (November 18th 2011 to January 31st 2012).

Prepaid customers can win daily and weekly prizes by topping up EC$15 or more. For every top up of $15 or more, customers automatically qualify for the daily prize of free credit, as well as weekly prizes which include, a Caribbean cruise for two, US$1000, a US$500 shopping spree, compliments Aeropost, six months supply of groceries, a 42 inch TV, compliments Singer, a living room set (Singer), a dining room set (Singer), free data and EC$50 credit for every month for a year.

For every top up of $15 or more customers will receive a letter from the word “D-I-G-I-C-E-L” through a text message. Customers must collect all 7 letters to spell the word “DIGICEL” and he/she will automatically qualify for the grand prize draw.

Postpaid customers are eligible to win also. Post-paid subscribers must pay their bill in full and on time. Customers will receive one entry into the grand prize draw with every $15 paid towards their bill.

The letter or letters will come via a text message approximately 30 minutes from the top up or payment transaction. Winning customers will automatically receive a congratulatory text telling them that they have successfully collected all letters. They will also receive a call from a member of the Marketing Team.

Daily prize winners will receive free bonus credit and will be notified via text message. Seven (7) finalists will be chosen at random for the grand prize draw. Persons who would have spelt DIGICEL throughout the life of the promotion will be placed in a random draw on February 4, 2012, when the seven finalists will be chosen.

During the grand finale, finalists will be randomly asked to choose a letter; each letter will be worth a different amount with the first place winner getting EC$30,000, 2nd place receiving EC$15,000 and third place EC$10,000. Fourth and fifth places will win EC$5,000 while sixth and seventh places will take home EC$2,500.

Meanwhile, persons are being asked to come to Campden Park on Saturday, November 26, where the wheel-a-deal will allow participants to win credit, prizes from Aeropost, the St. Vincent Brewery Ltd. and Singer.
