Save-A-Lot franchise opens November 21

A multi-million dollar Save-A-Lot franchise will be formally launched here on Monday, November 21, 2011, with a soft opening ceremony.{{more}}

Prime Minister Dr. Ralph E. Gonsalves will be among the main speakers at the unveiling of the new supermarket, which will be operated by CFL (SVG) Ltd., a subsidiary of Consolidated Foods Ltd (Saint Lucia).

Save A Lot SVG will feature exclusive brands of high quality food and household items, alongside other national brands, with a focus on delivering great savings to customers. Customers will also be given a money back guarantee on the exclusive line of Save A Lot brands.

The all Save A Lot SVG management team headed by Callistus Thompson, General Manager, and Shameika Marshall as Store Manager is excited about the new venture, which will result in increased economic activity in the county and the wealth of the nation.

“We are committed to offering shoppers high-quality groceries at great savings. We expect St. Vincent and the Grenadines to benefit greatly from the retail experience, knowledge of the industry, expertise, purchasing power and international affiliations that we have with Save A Lot in the USA”, noted Thompson in advance of the unveiling of the Save- A- Lot store.

The Prime Minister will also perform the ceremonial ribbon cutting honours which will usher in the start of the retail operation. Other speakers include the Constituency Representative for East Kingstown Arnhim Eustace, Sir Louis Straker and Ken Boyea as Board members of the CFL SVG Ltd, Chris Ornelas of Save A Lot, USA, and Micheal Chastanet, Chairman Consolidated Foods Ltd. (Saint Lucia).

A number of key private and public sector officials have been invited to be part of the special private unveiling on Monday evening.

The grand public opening of Save A Lot SVG is slated for Tuesday, November 22, at 7am. The supermarket will be open seven days a week from 7a.m. to 7 p.m, Monday to Saturday, and 7a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sundays and Holidays.

Save-A-Lot SVG will operate in the National Properties Food City Building. Save A Lot is part of Supervalu, a Fortune 100 grocery company based in suburban Minneapolis.
