GHS donates over $8,000 for cancer awareness

Yesterday, Monday, October 17, the Girls’ High School presented $8,823.26 to the SVG Medical Association for the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.{{more}} The students of the school raised this sum from sacrifices and internal fundraising projects during the first six weeks of this term.

Form 3B4 was the form that contributed most to the sum, closely followed by Form 2 McKie.

The school’s tradition of encouraging the girls to sacrifice and make pledges for the annual harvest was started in the 1960s by the then Acting Headmistress, the late Jennie Jacobs. The theme for this year’s harvest was “Bounty in a time of need”.
