At the staff retirement luncheon held on Friday, September 30 for Dr. Fraser, who served as Head for 20 years, Dalrymple pointed out that often, the contributions of those who quietly make their mark go unnoticed and that she was of the opinion that Dr. Fraser was one of those persons.

Dalrymple described Dr. Fraser an easy-going man who has a very good sense of humour and wished him the best on his retirement.

Meanwhile, other staff members, who warmly referred to him as “Doc”, individually recalled instances that were memorable. They spoke of his radio programme, his writings and his management style.

Most mentioned that Dr. Fraser never micro-managed, but instead guided persons into resolving issues.

Moved by the comments of his staff, Dr. Fraser pointed out the importance of working together towards a common goal for the enhancement of UWI.

He commented that he is into a new phase of life.
