8 churches qualify for Independence Bible Festival 2011 finals

Some eight churches have qualified for the finals of the 2011 SVG Independence Bible Festival, following the completion of the preliminary rounds,{{more}} which were staged at the Faith Temple Church in New Montrose, last Friday and Sunday evening.

Going through to the finals are: two-time defending champions – the Apostolic Faith Mission Bequia, Faith Temple, Pillar of Truth Ministry, Vermont Miracle Tabernacle, Wesleyan Holiness Church Georgetown, Streams of Power Church Sion Hill, Questelles Evangelical Church and the Pembroke Pentecostal Church.

The preliminary rounds included competitions in Bible Boxing, Impromptu Speech and six Rounds of Bible Quizzes.

The finals are scheduled for Friday, October 14, when the Bible Boxing and Speech competitions will take place and on Sunday, October 16, with the Quizzes and presentation of awards.

The Bible Boxing final will feature: the Apostolic Faith Mission coming up against faith Temple, Streams of Power Sion Hill and the Wesleyan Holiness Church Georgetown.

The Impromptu Speech final, with participants speaking on topical social and religious issues, will see: the Apostolic Faith Mission, Pembroke Pentecostal, Questelles Evangelical Church, Vermont Miracle Tabernacle and the Wesleyan Holiness Georgetown.

The churches are competing for various cash prizes, trophies and other special awards.

The SVG Independence Bible Festival, now into its third year, is being organized by the SVG Gospel Fest Committee under the theme: “Wisdom Through The Word of God”. The Apostolic Faith Mission Bequia have won the competition in the two previous years.
