The Youlou Pan Movement to mark 32nd year with concerts

The Youlou Pan Movement (YPM) has selected nine venues to stage steel band concerts as part of the celebrations to mark this country’s 32nd anniversary of independence.{{more}}

At an Executive Meeting of the YPM on Monday, September 12, the executive committee took a decision to stage concerts in Mesoptamia, Sandy Bay, Vermont, Spring Village, Layou, Union Island, Biabou, Park Hill and Kingstown.

The concerts will kick off on Sunday, October 2, in Mesoptamia and Sandy Bay, then on October 9, concerts will be held in Vermont and Spring Village.

Layou and Union Island are the venues for the October 16 concerts, with Biabou and Park Hill the venues for the October 23 concerts.

All the bands affiliated to the Youlou Pan Movement will converge in Kingstown for the final concert on Sunday, October 30.

On Thursday, October 27, Independence day, the Potential Steel Orchestra will hold its annual In-De-Pan-Dance at Calliaqua.

The YPM will hold a general meeting on September 24 at the CDC’s office to select the different steel orchestras to perform at the venues selected.
