DJ Mad Ants progresses to Heineken Green Synergy DJ Competition

DJ Mad Ants won the fifth leg of the 2011 Heineken Green Synergy DJ Competition held under the almond tree in Port Elizabeth, Bequia on Saturday, August 27.{{more}}

Witnessed by a very large and responsive crowd, Saturday’s event featured three competitors: DJ Smurf, DJ Lesroy and DJ Mad Ants. After the first round of competition, it was clear that DJ Mad Ants was the crowd favourite. DJ Smurf narrowly outperformed DJ Lesroy to qualify for the final round of the night, where he clashed against the reigning champion in the Heineken Green Synergy Bequia Leg DJ Mad Ants. In overwhelming fashion, DJ Mad Ants ousted DJ Smurf to earn himself qualification for the Heineken Green Synergy Finals for the second year in a row.

“I feel really good winning the Heineken Green Synergy DJ Competition here in Bequia for a second year in a row,” said Kimani James a.k.a DJ Mad Ants of Paget Farm, Bequia. “I look forward to doing my best in the finals and winning it.”

“The fifth leg of the Heineken Green Synergy took place under the almond tree in Port Elizabeth, Bequia, where we had a very responsive crowd offering the local DJ’s excellent support. Bequia has always been a traditional Heineken venue, and Heineken will continue to provide this type of event which brings excitement and premium entertainment to Bequia,” said Dominic Brisbane, Heineken Brand Manager at St. Vincent Brewery Ltd.

DJ Mad Ants will now join DJ Source, DJ Kally, DJ Antz, DJ Shatta Nines and last year’s champion DJ Multivator in the Finals of the Heineken Green Synergy Competition 2011. This year’s final will be held at the Bayview Car Park, on Friday, September 2nd. The winner of the Finals of the Heineken Green Synergy DJ Competition will receive a grand prize of XCD $5,000, as well as the opportunity to travel to St. Lucia to represent St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the Regional Finals of the Heineken Green Synergy.
