SVG NFTO hands out scholarship, bursary to students

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines National Fair Trade Organization has yet again contributed to the education of children of its members.{{more}}

The organization handed over one scholarship and a bursary to two students, namely Rolicia Parris, formerly of the Belmont Government School, and Shanette Charles, formerly a student of the Biabou Methodist School.

Parris and Charles will be attending the Girls’ High School and the Adelphi Secondary School, respectively, this September.

Parris, the recipient of the Scholarship, will receive $1,500 per year, $800 to be given at the beginning of the first term and $350 at the beginning of both the second and third terms. A bursary of $200 was given to Charles.

Scholarships are granted to the applicants who attain the highest positions in the Common Entrance Examinations. Scholarships are given for five years of secondary school and two years of post-secondary education.(OS)
