Daniel’s life was cut short on Sunday, August 14, after she succumbed to a stab wound to her neck. It is alleged that Daniel was attacked by her ex-boyfriend shortly after 4pm.

Stephenson, who was at the crime scene, told SEARCHLIGHT that he saw it fitting to visit the community and offer condolences to the family on behalf of the government.

Stephenson said persons need to be more tolerant in the way they live with each other. “It is important that we seek to love each other more and that is what is missing in society today. I pray in the end justice will be served,” Stephenson stated.

Daniel’s death brings to thirteen the number of homicides recorded so far for the year. She is the second female to fall at the hands of another, the first being six year old Zoya Garraway of Fairbaine Pasture whose throat was slashed. Zoya’s mother was charged in connection with that killing.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines recorded 24 homicides in 2010; two of the victims were women.
