The boxes, officially termed Digital Television Receivers, were handed over to Hospital Administrator Cuthbert Knights at a small ceremony on the premises.

Knights, clearly thrilled by the donation, explained that ever since Karib Cable made the switch from an analogue system to one which was digital, the hospital was without cable television. He, therefore, wrote to the company and was “confident” that he would recieve a favourable response. This response garnered special praise from Knight.

“What Karib Cable is doing is very commendable”, he said, “We have to express our gratitude.”

Knights revealed that the hospital is in talks with Karib Cable, pertaining to the bandwidth requirements for Internet connectivity for the recently commissioned CT Scanner. Once this is in place, remote access to images taken from the scanner would be available and teleradiography could occur.

Presenting the boxes to Knight was Marketing Executive at Karib Cable, Vance Garraway, and Corporate Sales Manager, Dawson Lewis.

Also on hand to witness the ceremony was Deputy Hospital Administrator Donna Bascombe.(PM)
