The GHSCC is this year commemorating 30 years as a community development organisation in the community of Green Hill, mainly. The vacation programme, which is in its fifth year after being revived, focussed on getting youths to acquire a better understanding and appreciation of their surrounding and their role in preservation of cultures.

The 2011 programme was part of a wider collaboration with the Youth Affairs Division as it showcases the talent of Vincentian youths.

Participants in the Green Hill programme took part in environmental hikes to Fenton, Mt St. Andrew and community farms. They also learned foreign languages and participated in personal development sessions.

Practical sessions were also done in distinguishing the various ground provisions grown in the community, plucking chickens and playing netball and kids cricket. Human resource support for the programme came from the organisation, the community and the US Peace Corps.
