They can now enter directly into any of the Season Finals of the Uptown International Country Music Karaoke Idol Contest, commencing with the second finals scheduled for Friday, September 2, 2011, at VINJAM Restaurant and Bar, formerly V JAYâs Rooftop.
Savlon John, Linsay Da Santos, Kemdol Bowens and Colleen Lovelace have already claimed their position in the Grand Finale for December 2011 when they eliminated nine others at the First Seasonâs Finale which took place at Club Calabash on the April 2, 2011.
This seasonâs finals will also see the introduction of the Country Dance Challenge. It is a mini dance contest for patrons who will compete in two dance categories, namely Couples Freestyle and Group Line. They will compete for challenge trophies over three different dance sessions. The couple and group that wins the trophies at least twice will get to keep it along with other prizes. If at the end of the third session there is no clear winner in either category, there will be a dance-off to determine a winner. The contest aims to promote country dance and provide a space for dancers to showcase their talent alongside our country singers.
Registration for both the dance and the singing contest closes on August 27, 2011. Forms are available at the Music Centre in Kingstown.
Both dancers and singers will share over $6,000 in prizes at the Grand Finale in December 2011.
