According to Joe Sheridan, General Manager, the doors of the company were opened in September 1990, and back then, they were taking a risk.

“We were the first independent insurance brokers in St Vincent and the Grenadines offering a free professional service,” he explained.

Since then, five other insurance broker companies have been registered in the country, but Sheridan noted that many seek his company first.

This, Sheridan explained, is a clear reflection of the reputation that the company has achieved.

“We would like to think that much of our reputation has come not from selling insurance, but from genuinely trying to help others,” he said.

“We have always tried to build a friendly team and are proud of our present strong and helpful team members,” Sheridan continued.

The General Manager also said that the decision to purchase and renovate Swan House was a big decision.

Despite the negative perception by some members of the public of the Paul’s Avenue area, Sheridan said that he and his staff took a different approach. The choice of a suitable spot was limited by budget. However, they were looking for a building in the Central Kingstown area, with easy access.

Sheridan maintains that he is investing in a community and not just a building.

“We hope our presence will help the development of the Paul’s Avenue area,” he said.(DD)
