NY Diaspora to hold four day meeting in SVG

Since 2007, the Regional Integration and Diaspora Unit (RIDU) has being working assiduously to strengthen relations with the Diaspora.{{more}}

A number of initiatives have been undertaken by the Unit to formalise Diaspora – Capital relations. In an attempt to enhance the social and economic development of all Vincentians, the government has recognised the potential role the Diaspora can play. Therefore efforts are being made to mine and harness the diverse, dispersed and largely untapped talent of its people in the Diaspora.

As was done in 2009, the RIDU proposes to host a development conference in 2012. In preparation for this Conference, a group from the New York Diaspora will be in St. Vincent and the Grenadines from July 11 to 15 to conduct a series of meetings aimed at providing a platform for future engagement between local stake holders and the Diaspora generally.
