Dismissed employees of Food City get severance

Chairman of National Properties Sir Louis Straker says that he is confident that the former employees of Food City who had been severed because of the closure of the company will find employment elsewhere.{{more}}

Speaking to the media last Friday, July 1 Straker said that at least 75 former employees were dismissed and that EC$500,000 had been paid in severance payments.

“The new company is free in its discretion to rehire many of these workers,” he said. (DD)
