PM leaves state for CARICOM 32nd Heads of Government meeting
Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves was expected to speak at the opening of the 32nd CARICOM Heads of Government meeting in St Kitts yesterday June 30.##M:{{more}}
The prime minister left the state on Wednesday to attend the meeting which is expected to end on Monday, July 4.
Speaking at a media briefing on Tuesday, June 28, Gonsalves explained that the purpose of the meeting was to appoint a secretary general for CARICOM and for the regionâs leaders to act on a number of decisions which came out of the last summit.
Following the meeting in St Kitts, the prime minister will then travel to Venezuela where that government will be hosting a meeting of the community of Latin American and Caribbean States slated for next Tuesday, July 5.
The delegation includes Head of the Regional and Diaspora Unit Elsworth John and Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Camillo Gonsalves. (DD)
