The world of Toastmasters welcomed a group of Dynamic Leaders with open arms last weekend, with the charter and induction ceremony of the nation’s fifth club.{{more}}

The country’s latest Toastmasters group, whose membership comprises of 25 staff members of the Bank of St. Vincent and the Grenadines along with a number of club mentors was installed last Saturday, June 25, at the Grenadine House in Kingstown.

Calling themselves the Dynamic Leaders Toastmasters Club, the members, with toastmaster Charron Dos Santos as its president, received their certificates by Club Mentor Wendie Wilson, and were pinned by Area Governor Jacintha Elliot, who said that the members would benefit from active participation and urged them to dedicate themselves to personal growth, and to keep the club strong and dynamic.

Using the club’s theme of the night Dare to be Dynamic, featured speaker Dr. Jules Ferdinand challenged the club to think of how they can become by being of service, rather to see what personal benefits they can gain by helping others.

He urged the members to follow their dreams and ideas and to do so with passion as they strive to grow and in their personal and public speaking lives.

Also speaking to the inductees was Managing Director of the Bank of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Derry Williams, who congratulated his staff members for the initiative, and promised the support of the Board of Directors.

Williams pleaded with the club to take forward the Toastmasters ideals in an effort to help their institution in a turbulent and dynamic period.

Toastmasters is an organization which helps its members to improve their communications, public speaking and leadership skills.

The induction of the Dynamic Leaders club follows closely on the heels of the Mustique Professionals Toastmasters club which was chartered about two weeks ago.

The other local clubs are Achievers, Imperial champions and Creative Thinkers Toastmasters. (JJ)
