Organisers plan to generate a good vibes until the end of the year, and well into 2012.
July is looking to be an eventful month, with âStaggerâ on Friday, July 1, featuring Tallpree and Problem Child; âAmnesiaâ, the official last lap carnival fete on Tuesday, July 5; and âRehabâ on Friday, July 15.
Thereâs also âPretty in Pinkâ on Friday, July 22, with proceeds being donated to the SVG Cancer Society, and a featured show dubbed âVincy Mas meets Crop Overâ on Friday, July 29, when some of Barbadosâs best deejays will come up against Vincyâs finest.
With a focus on âaffordable entertainmentâ, the Fab Fridayz team has already whetted the appetites of party-goers with two popular regional artistes.
On Friday, June 10, Trinidadian artiste Cassi brought his âTown Tingâ to the Aquatic Club; much to the delight of those who attended Fab Fridayzâs inaugural event.
One patron explained that the change in venue, where most of the series of parties will be held, was a welcome diversion.
âThe change of scenery was really bless. They have a court yard area so itâs an open vibe!â he said.
âThe music was level. There were girls like peas, and drinks prices were reasonable.â
And the fun didnât stop there.
On Friday, June 17, the Aquatic Club was buzzing once again with an even bigger crowd.
This time it was Trinidadian artiste Denise Belfon; showing the audience exactly why her alias is âSaucy Wowâ.
The soca veteran demonstrated her famous âbicycle wineâ â putting to shame women half her age who ventured on stage to out-do her.
So thatâs five full weekends of excitement.
And if itâs not enough, the Fab Fridayz team has something else up its sleeve for those who love old school dancehall music.
Starting Friday, August 5, organisers will bring the once-monthly âDancehall Legendsâ â featuring artistes such as Flourgon, Clement Irie, Daddy Lizard, Shabba Ranks, Super Cat and Barrington Levy.
All this is just the tip of the iceberg. So itâs imperative that patrons stay tuned to Fab Fridayzâs signal. (JV)
