Over 600 say farewell to College

More than 600 students of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College bade farewell to the college this week, as the four divisions of the institution gathered together for their second amalgamated graduation ceremony.{{more}} The graduating class, which comprised 337 students from the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies; 235 from the Division of Technical and Vocational Education; 35 from the Division of Teacher Education and 23 from the Division of Nursing Education converged at the Victoria Park along with faculty and family members, friends and well wishers, following a procession which began at the Bishop’s College Kingstown compound.The students were congratulated for completing their studies in the various departments and were urged to strive for higher by a number of education officials, including Chairman of the Board of Governors of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College Audrey Gittens Gilkes, college Director Dr. Joel Warrican, feature speaker Professor Errol Miller and Minister of Education/ Deputy Prime Minister Girlyn Miguel.

The top students in each division were also awarded for their academic excellence. These were Valedictorian Gregory Dean from the Division of Arts, Science and General Studies; Anika Neptune from the Division of Technical and Vocational Education; Shenice Peters and Desmond Dennie in the primary and secondary departments of the Division of Teaching Education, and Janella Gabriel and Daniella John from the division of Nursing Education.
