Villamar Ltd. unveils new packaging for Yogurt products

Local agro-processing company Villamar Ltd has unveiled a new exotic packaging for its yogurt products.{{more}}

The company unveiled the new packaging during a promotional session at the First Caribbean International Bank (FCIB) on Wednesday, June 1.

Managing Director of Villamar Ltd Shafia London stated that alterations had been made to the packaging of the yogurt, which makes it more appealing.

“The difference with this package is that it has a greater international appeal and it’s more attractive to persons,” London said.

The package, London said, also has additional information about the company on its label.

Different packaging “We export this product and so persons will now become more familiar with SVG and one of the products we have to offer,” she said.

London added that persons had called for a different packaging of the product as they felt that it was good, but that it needed greater appeal. London stated that she hopes that the product will continue to appeal to persons and that they will support the company.

Patrons visiting the FCIB had a sample of the yogurt offered, and all had good reviews about the product. One man, in line at the bank, stated that the product was great and that he intended to return to the Villamar station, to sample more products. Persons were also offered samples of the company’s Samosas.

London added that the company also offers fish fillets, soups, crab backs and bulk juices and would soon be repackaging other products. London, however, stated that the yogurt produced by Villamar

has no preservatives, but uses instead natural, live cultures. Because of this, they have a short shelf life; however, the quality is better than that of yogurts with added preservatives. The yogurt products are available in several flavours including plumrose, cinnamon, pineapple, mango, banana and strawberry, all made from natural fruits. The Villamar yogurt can be found at various supermarkets around St. Vincent.

London added that the company will be visiting other business places, with assistance from Image Modeling Agency models, in the next few weeks to inform them of Villamar’s product line.
