Georgetown children get donations

The South East Steel Orchestra of South East Development Inc., and the Rawacou Development Council joined forces recently to bring comfort and joy to 12 children who were affected by the trough system that disrupted the lives of several families in the Georgetown / Langley Park area in April this year.{{more}}

On Sunday, May 29, the members of the organizations journeyed to the premises of the Georgetown Methodist Pre-School where they entertained the children affected and made donations to them.

One child from the Langley Park Government Early Childhood Centre, two children from the Stars Pre-school, three from the Georgetown Methodist Pre-school and six from the Georgetown Pre-school benefitted from $800 worth of food stuff, clothing and linen.

The contributions were distributed to the parents of the children in an atmosphere of sweet melodies resonating from the pulsating sound of the steel pan.

The South East Steel Orchestra is now in its fourth year of operations.
