St. Vincent Brewery to produce Presidente Beer
By the third quarter of this year, St. Vincent Brewery Ltd. will be producing the Presidente beer at its facility at Campden Park.{{more}}
This will make St. Vincent and the Grenadines the first country outside of the Dominican Republic to produce the iconic beer of the Spanish speaking country.
Franklin Leon, Chairman of St. Vincent Brewery Ltd., said production of the beer here in St. Vincent is possible âdue to the high quality standards and extraordinary support of the excellent team of St. Vincent Breweryâ.
Controlling shares in St. Vincent Brewery Ltd. are owned by Cerveceria Nacional Dominicana (CND), a company which also has majority interest in the Antigua Brewery Ltd and Dominica Brewery and Beverages.
The Antigua Observer reported on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, that the Antigua Brewery Ltd. was set to shut down its manufacturing facility and production of that islandâs flagship beer Wadadli, and will move to St. Vincent, from where it will be shipped to Antigua. The Observer also reports that Ting and Vita Malt will also be shipped from St. Vincent to Antigua.
The flagship beer of the St. Vincent Brewery Ltd. is Hairoun, which has been brewed and bottled here since 1985.
