Prospect man attacked, stabbed in chest, abdomen and leg

Samuel, 33, a poultry farmer of Prospect was stabbed in chest, abdomen, and leg by a man who he said he doesn’t know.

Relating the ordeal from his bed at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, June 1, Samuel told SEARCHLIGHT that he and a friend had just finished attending church at the Kingstown Seventh Day Adventist Church when they made their way to the Windward Bus Terminal.

While there, Samuel said he entered a minivan and was seated in the same seat where the conductor sits. Samuel added that the conductor then told him to move to another seat because he wanted to place a woman in his seat as she had a lot of bags. “I turn to him and ask him where he want me to move,” Samuel said.

Samuel said the conductor told him not to worry, that he would find a seat. “I say boss man, my legs too long for the back. I ain’t begging for a ride and I staying right here,” Samuel recalled.

Apparently annoyed, Samuel said the conductor threw the woman’s bags on him. “I throw back the bag on him and he throw it ‘pon me again so I threw it back again,” he said.

Samuel added that he exited the bus and saw the conductor looking on the ground. Moments later, he said a another man came out of the bus and held him by his shirt.

“I push off his hand and tell him to let me go. Me and he start to wrestle and fell by the conductor’s seat,” recounted Samuel.

He said the man punched him in the stomach repeatedly during the scuffle. “When I got back into the van, the conductor returned and start to pelt bottle in the van; so I come back out and I hear somebody say I get stab,” he stated.

Samuel said when he saw his shirt drenched in blood, he ran behind the man whom he was fighting with. “I run him down, but he was getting away from me… I started to feel weak because I was losing a lot of blood…,” Samuel added.

As he watched his attacker disappear into the Paul’s Avenue area, Samuel said he stood in the main road in front of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) and stopped a car; which took him to seek medical attention at the hospital.

Samuel said the stab in his abdomen also cut his liver.

Expressing his feelings on the incident, Samuel said it is not a good feeling at all to go through what he went through.

“I now coming out of church and to see I trying to do the right thing and them kinda scene happen to you…It just goes to show that Satan getting in man’s way to do negative things,” Samuel stated.

No arrests have been made in the matter.
