Multiple District 60 consists of the islands from Jamaica to Suriname including Guyana.
Having just completed its 26th anniversary celebrations earlier this month, a 10 member delegation travelled to Barbados from May 18-22 to represent the club at the Multiple District 60.
The club received the award for Most Outstanding Club in Region 3C (St. Lucia, Barbados, Grenada and St. Vincent and the Grenadines). The clubâs President Roleza Samuel and Secretary Cametha John also won awards from Region 3C and Sub-District 60B for their outstanding performance during the Lionistic year 2010-2011.
Apart from these awards, in March 2011, at the last held Zone meeting for Zone 3C, Samuel and John also received the awards for most outstanding Leo President and Secretary. Zone 3C consists of the islands of Grenada and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Samuel stated that the awards received are reflective of the hard work and dedication put in by members during the past year and previous years. She said being a youth-based service organisation, members have demonstrated that through collaborative effort, much can be achieved.
According to Samuel, members are aware that the giving of service to the less fortunate is both a rewarding and humbling experience and the awards are merely a formal recognition of the clubâs effort in striving for excellence.
The Leo club St. Vincent expresses thanks to the general public and corporate sponsors for their assistance during this past year and previous years.
