Committee set up to review Representation of the People Act to meet June 9

The Select Committee set up to review the controversial proposed amendment to the Representation of the People Act (RPA) will meet on June 9 at 2 p.m.{{more}}

Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves made the announcement in Parliament on Tuesday, May 24.

Appointed members from the government side and other invited groups, include: Judith Jones-Morgan, Attorney General; Kay Bacchus-Browne, former President of the Bar Association; Parnell Campbell Q.C, and Godfrey Samuel, Chairman of the Christian Council.

Earlier this year, the opposition New Democratic Party (NDP) staged a series of protests against the proposed amendment to the RPA, claiming that it will infringe upon the rights of Vincentians.
